WELCOME TO THE ROAD TO FINOPS

I have been developing on the Cloud since finishing university and I have become increasingly interested in the costs associated with it. So much so, that I decided that it would be an interesting area to research for my Masters Dissertation. 
As part of the research I focused on analysing billing data and finding ways to reduce waste. I conducted a series of tests, developed code and put it into practice into a live production project within AWS.  The project threw up some interesting results (as well as a distinction in my Masters) so I spent more time looking at this cost stuff or to give it it’s proper title: Financial Operations or 'FinOps'.
